His Eminence Sayid al-Qaid Muqtada al-Sadr, may God bless him, issues a statement addressing a campaign against corruption and injustice… under the title of “Woe to the Da3sh of Corruption”.

In the name of the Almighty

Know oh believers that I will not tolerate those corrupters and exploiters of our name (al-Sadr) for their own worldly, abhorrent and obscene purposes. So, I announce, not for the first time, and not for the last time, God willing, the initiation of a wide-ranging reform campaign within the Sadrist movement against corruption, the corrupters and the worldly exploiters who abuse the humanity, religion and belief of the people and ourselves.

So let us stand together in for the success of the campaign, ‘Woe to the Da3sh of Corruption’, for just as we fought the occupation and as we are fighting the Da3sh terrorists so we will fight corruption and injustice, that feeds off the poor and oppressed, with an organised campaign against ‘The Da3sh of Corruption and Injustice’.

We will strike with an iron fist all those who gain from the poor and their morsel, and all who have worldly, indecent intentions, so that the Sadrist trend, and the followers of the hawza and al-Sadr and the Sadr family, can be secured from the world and its pleasures, so that you can stand in front of everyone pure and bright, separated from all those who are ugly and detested.

The first step was when the brothers, God bless them, arrested a group of miscreants and corrupters. We will announce more on this in a separate statement to follow, so wait, I am waiting with you.

Muqtada al-Sadr 23 Shaban 1436
